ORCID
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier)
ORCID is an international, not fit for profit organization created for the benefit of researchers, research organizations, funders and publishers. An ORCID iD is a unique and persistent digital identifier used to disambiguate researchers from one another. The iD supports authentication across multiple platforms allowing researchers to link their professional activities and publications to their unique record; ensuring that their scholarly contributions are properly attributed and permanently showcased.
Many funders and research organizations are actively supporting the use of ORCID iDs, by embedding them into key workflows in order to assert connections between every stage of the research life cycle. Accurate information is also vital to indexing, search and discovery, publication tracking, funding and supporting peer review.
PAMS will support the use of ORCID by integrating ORCID into our submission systems. Authors, Co-authors and reviewers are strongly encouraged to also connect their ScholarOne accounts to ORCID. For those who do not currently have an iD they will be required to get themselves registered. Depending on the peer review model of the journal, appropriate information about the review will be entered into the ORCID record, once a final decision or revision has been made on the article.
